Simple A&B is a misdemeanor with up to 2.5 years house of correction and $1,000 fine. Aggravated A&B is a felony when serious bodily injury results, when a dangerous weapon is used, when the victim is in a protected class, or under Section 13M domestic circumstances. Aggravated charges can carry up to 5 years state prison or higher.
